Emma Blunt Joins Gloucester BID Board

SFP team member, Emma Blunt, has recently joined the board of Gloucester Business Improvement District (BID).

About Gloucester BID

The Gloucester BID is a business-led body, financially supported by over 600 City Centre businesses. Covering the boundary of Gloucester’s City Centre, it has been established to address eight key priorities:

  • Safety & security
  • Street cleanliness
  • Physical and environmental improvements
  • Area marketing and promotion
  • Events
  • Business cost reduction
  • Facilitated networking
  • Representation with public bodies
A Passion for the city of Gloucester

Emma’s career as a planning consultant has fostered a passion for supporting the growth of local towns and cities. Emma explains:

“I was looking for ways to get more involved and support the growth of the area. When I heard about the Gloucester BID, it felt like a perfect opportunity.  I’m passionate about the city of Gloucester. It has so much to offer, and I want to see it evolve to become an even more attractive place for people to live, work and visit. The BID plays a vital role, both encouraging businesses to play their part in improving the city, while also supporting business growth and providing a community for networking and support”.

After doing some research and attending a Gloucester BID meeting, Emma formally applied for a seat on the board. Following a vote by existing board members, who have a range of background and experience, Emma is now an official board member. Emma explains what her new role will involve:

“The board meet regularly to discuss a variety of plans and projects. The BID supports community events, such as the visit by the Knife Angel, the Tall Ships and Folk festivals and the Gloucester Art Trail (as well as so much more). I’ll be attending meetings and playing my part in ensuring the BID continues to support improvements to the city”.

We’re thrilled for Emma and know she’ll be a valuable member of the Gloucester BID board.
