Self-Build Planning Permission Success in Stroud

SF Planning are pleased to report planning permission success for our client for a new self-build dwelling in Stroud District.

This tricky edge of settlement site is located in the village of Bisley. The adopted local plan for the area identifies the site as half inside and half outside the settlement development limits.

There was a previously dismissed appeal on the land as well as a subsequent planning permission, which didn’t meet the needs of the new owners of the site in terms of the position of the dwelling on the plot.

SF planning engaged with the Council in pre-application discussions and supplied a comprehensive level of information upfront. This ensured support from officers, in planning and conservation terms, at an early stage. Our arguments included the specific needs of our client to overcome a technical policy objection to the proposed location. In addition, we highlighted the fact that the scheme proposed a self-build dwelling to meet the needs identified on the Council’s self-build register.

Our client was understandably pleased with the result:

“Many thanks for your help & support in getting this one done – really appreciate this and we are very happy to have got the planning!” (Private Client)

This planning permission was achieved working with Roger Gransmore Architects.
