Westminster City Council City Plan – Partial Review

In April 2021, Westminster City Council adopted its City Plan. The Council are now starting a partial review to address three key areas:

  • Affordable housing: Changes to the current policy in terms of affordable housing split. This includes the potential requirement for affordable housing contributions from small sites.
  • Retrofitting and renovation over demolition: Wanting to encourage retrofit and/or renovation of existing building for new uses over demolition and re-build. This forms part of the Council’s actions to reduce CO2 emissions.
  • Site allocations: Inclusion of site allocations, the consultation includes a call for sites and an invitation to submit updates on previously assessed sites.

An early stage of consultation is underway and is running until 5pm on Friday 18th November 2022.

Alongside the review of the plan, the Council is also reviewing its Statement of Community Involvement. This is expected to be consulted on in Autumn 2022, prior to adoption in Spring 2023.
