Affordable housing – Launch of 7 energy efficient homes at Oakleaze & Meadowleaze

affordable housing

SF Planning Consultants, working in conjunction with Gloucester City Homes, Quattro Architects, AFA and Cotswold Transport Planning, gained planning permission for the redevelopment of a site in Longlevens in Gloucester to affordable housing.

We were able to work on this project from pre-application to application and despite the pandemic, Gloucester City Homes have been extremely quick in turning permissions into affordable housing. The permissions were granted in March 2020.

There remains a very high need for affordable housing Gloucester, with 5,238 currently on the waiting list for home seekers. This site will help to contribute to the provision of affordable and low-cost housing for the residents and families in the Elmbridge/Longlevens area. It will contribute to providing safe and affordable homes to a range of local residents, providing suitable tenures for a range of needs.

The Site was ideal for residential development since it is within the built-up area and within easy reach of the town centre by foot or public transport, to access services, facilities, and regional and national public transport.  The application will boost the council’s supply of housing to help it meet housing delivery targets. It further has a social benefit of delivering low-cost affordable housing to the city. All of the houses include:

  1. Air source heat pumps
  2. EV charging points
  3. A high energy efficiency rating

Residents on the housing wating list moved in yesterday and it’s wonderful to see all the hard work from all parties, come to fruition. Should you need help with your planning application, please do not hesitate to contact us now: info@sfplanning.co.uk or call 01242 231575
