Building consent secured – Cheltenham

building consent

SF Planning is chuffed to have secured listed building consent for numbers 19 and 20 Regent Street in Cheltenham to knock through and connect the two buildings, along with other internal alterations, all to enable the use of number 19 (in the left of the pic below) as an extension to the existing ‘The Find’ coffee house at number 20.

After being vacant for almost two years and so very much in need of an active use, it is great news that this heritage asset will have a new lease of life.  The hospitality sector has been hit especially hard by Covid 19.  It is especially satisfying therefore to support a successful local business, to facilitate it’s growth, the jobs (direct and indirect) the venture will create and support, and the wider benefit to the local economy and the town as a whole.  Listed buildings of this nature can be a challenge to work with and find long term beneficial uses for.  Thanks go to the client for their expert knowledge of their own business and sector, as well as to the conservation officer at Cheltenham Borough Council for recognising the importance of the proposal and for determining the application in a swift timeframe.
