F45 Training coming to Gloucester Quays

SF Planning are delighted to announce they have secured planning permission and listed building consent for a new concept gym, ‘F45’, at Bakers Quay in Gloucester Quays.

There are over 2,000 F45 gyms across the globe, with F45 Gloucester Quays being the first in Gloucestershire.

Although the original Provender Mill building was destroyed due to an arson attack in 2015, the replacement building is still considered a designated heritage asset, hence the need for listed building consent as well as planning permission.  Sensitive internal signage has been selected avoiding the need for advertisement consent.

Throughout the application process, SF Planning liaised with the planning officer and further information was submitted in relation to noise impact as well as parking.

Because the upper floors of Provender comprise residential apartments, we needed to submit a substantial amount of information in order to convince both the environmental health and planning officers of Gloucester City Council that there would be no significant impact on the residents as a result of F45’s operation.  The specifics of the F45 concept was instrumental in this process with the ‘F’ representing ‘functional’ workout and ‘45’ referring to the length of the individual workouts.

Members of F45 will be able to use this new facility from 6:00am to 8:00pm Mondays to Fridays and from 8:00am to 4:00 pm at the weekends.  Both car parking and cycle parking is available in front of Provender.
