Replacement Dwelling in Cotswold AONB, Tewkesbury Borough

Replacement dwelling

Working with Tyack architects we have recently achieved planning permission in Tewkesbury Borough for a high quality replacement dwelling, new stabling and new access drive within the Cotswold AONB near Winchcombe.

The site comprises of a former farm workers house with a number of dilapidated agricultural buildings and dog kennels on an elevated site within the AONB. The scheme focuses on the existing previously developed part of the site with the principle of development discussed and agreed at pre-application stage with the Council.

Our planning statement successfully argued the existing farm buildings were in very poor condition and are coming to the end of their life and that their replacement with modern and relocated farm buildings and stabling offered a potential landscape enhancement to this part of the AONB. Tyack Architects were engaged to design a replacement dwelling and farmstead that not only considers the context of the site itself but also its wider landscape setting and uses their significant experience and knowledge of the locality and the Cotswolds in general. The proposed dwelling will result in a building of architectural merit replacing a poor quality building with a development that will complement the locality. We assisted in appointing a team of consultants including Rappor, LVIA Ltd and Cotswold Wildlife Surveys to cover matters including ecology, drainage and landscape.
