Success in the Cotswolds

SFP working alongside Partnership Design are delighted to achieve planning permission for a new house in the village of Withington within the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).  On behalf of our private client, we’ve obtained permission for a traditional style Cotswold stone cottage within the grounds of our client’s existing house.  Initial positive pre-application discussions with Cotswold District Council established that the principle of a new house was acceptable under local plan policy DS3 (Small scale development in non-principal settlements).

As a site on the edge of the village, and within the AONB, the council were keen to ensure that the proposal was sympathetic to the character of the village and the surrounding landscape.  Pre-application discussion continued with the council, focusing on the design of the house and after the submission of a number of design iterations a suitable approach was agreed with the council ahead of submitting the planning application.  Both our client’s and SFP’s patience through the pre-application process was rewarded with planning permission being issued fairly swiftly, within the 8 week determination period.

We are very pleased to have been able to secure the planning permission in Cotswold District for our client and we are looking forward to seeing the completed new house in due course.
