Planning permission for rural employment development

Planning permission

SF Planning are delighted to have achieved planning permission for new units at an existing rural employment site in Tewkesbury Borough.  Working with A Clarke Design, planning permission has been achieved on behalf of DA Cook Builders Ltd for the construction of 10 business start up units to serve the local rural employment market.  The site at Saberton Farm, Dumbleton is an ideal location for business growth given its position adjacent to the A46 and its subsequent good links to Tewkesbury, Evesham, Cheltenham and the M5.

Working for our long standing client, the planning permission builds upon the previous consent gained by SF Planning Ltd in 2019 to change the use of the former horticultural nursery site to a builders yard with some manufacturing activities and it enables our client to construct a development that complements the existing uses.  It is beneficial in not only supporting rural business growth but to also compliments the activities carried out by DA Cook Builders.

It was necessary to be sensitive to the site’s location in the Cotswold AONB when preparing the application, and the consented scheme respects the design through considerate building design and sensitive landscape planting.  The site’s location next to the A46 trunk road meant that the potential impact of introducing additional commercial vehicle traffic onto the network was considered appropriately.   No objections were raised by either the Cotswold AONB board or Highways England in relation to these respective matters and planning permission was granted under delegated powers.

We are really please to have been able to secure planning permission for our client and we’re looking forward to seeing the finished development. Please contact us now if you need similar help on 01242 231575.
